I have VPN setup at my office which works beautifully. I have cable modem at home and can connect without any problems. Recently i bought a router and added another PC at my home. Using this setup with two computers at home, i cannot connect both of them to my office VPN together. If one is connected, the other won't connect, and vice versa. Individually both of them work fine. How can i connect both of them at the same time? Is it because the router has only one external IP and my VPN server disallows 2 connections from same IP? How can i share the VPN connection made by one computer, on the other, if that is the case?

Any ideas on how I can get both the computers connected via VPN at the same time would be appreciated. Thanks

Not every router will give you teh ability to use more than one tunnel.

Personally I have SMC2404 and I can create two connections from two computers to the VPN server.

Any ideas on how i can make mine work? Please help

What type of router do you have? I'm having the same problem. I have a linksys befsr11 router at the main office and a linksys befsr41 at home.

I found out that these routers allow only one vpn session at a time.

At linksys they told me to upgrade the firmware on the routers to the last version (1.45.7) which allows multiple pptp vpn pass-through connection.

I did the upgrade today here at the office and tonight I'll do it at home to see what happens.

I'll post it tomorrow.

good luck

Any results on the upgrade yet? I'm curious as I don't think that is the right firmware for that model of router. Let us know if you were successful, because I will upgrade mine to that version as well if it will allow multiple tunnels. :)

ALDI, any results on the upgrade yet, pls inform, thanks

If the routers have the capability, an IPSec gateway to gateway tunnels would be a better option, that way , your network becomes an extension of the network in the office, forexample, the office has 192.168.1.x, and your network becomes 192.168.2.x and everything between the subnets is routed over the encrypted tunnel with DES or 3DES.

I agree with pmf71. I currently support a customer that has a corporate office and 11 remote locations. I have one BEFVP41 in every location and behind each router there are no less than 2 machine and as many as 10. Personally I have tried the BEFSX41 atleast 5 different times with no luck. Yes the BEFVP41 is a little more money but they are rock solid. These tunnnels have been up for over a year without a single problem.

VPNing, I have VPN setup on my NT SBS 4.5 server using RAS and PPTP. can i use one of the BEFVP41 at remote end to setup a tunnel to connect to the server or do i need a router at each end? pls advise, thanks
