Hi!

I want to know what vpn router application you prefer.

I have 2 sites, one of them have a dynamic ip address.

I want a solution that is hardware, not software. Compatible Linux/windows (so IPsec...).

I've check Checkpoint, netscreen, Sonicwall, netgear...

I want something that is simple to set-up.

Thank you!

The site to site VPNs that I have set up have all had static IP on both ends. They have been sonicwall. Not terribly difficult to set up once you understand it. Sonicwall tech support nor on-line knowledgebase has ever been very impressive to me should you need it.

I use sonicwall to sonicwall for site to site. For remote to site I have connected Linksys routers with VPN to Sonicwall units.

As Clarksville I am not thrilled with their support crew but they will get you setup.

A couple of thing with Sonic.. be careful which unit you buy, difficult to figure out total cost of the models, some model lack features needed and you need to purchase options. Best to call Sonic first. Also there is a maintenance fee every year, which must be maintained for support, which you will definitely need.

Easy to setup ? firewalls are relatively easy to setup if you understand them. VPN can be easy or a royal pain, depending on many factors.

I have 2 netgear fvs318 with statics at both ends but the netgear manual gave instructions on how to set one up with dynamic, step by step.

I use Cisco Pix units. 501 is good for small office and home environments, 506E is good for the small business. They just work.
