Hi all ...

1) Please advice if it is possible to connect 2 printers to one pc and secondly is it possible to print out a print-job on one printer and another print-job on the other printer all at the same time ?

2) Where can i find some info (in plain english) as to how "AMD" compare to "Intel" ?
like amdk6 2-500 = pentium 3 -450mhz
considering the same amount of ram and hdd, ect. is used.

3) is it possible to connect 2 systems to only one monitor and be able to switch between the two systems ?(or split the screen maybe ?If it is what do i need ?

Thanks
Wessel

to answer 1) yes its possible, you have a couple of options buy a auto printer switch box, this will allow you to print to both printers, or b) order an LPT card and fit it to your PC so you have 2 ports on the back of the PC ( i.e LPT1 AND LPT2). the latter would allow quicker multi print jobs i think.

pass on2)

to answer 3) you need to order a switch box, basically you plug your monitor mouse and keyboard to this and relevant cables to split between PC's. see Belkin for details

Rob If in doubt get the Ball Pein Hammer out

1) without using a switchbox or network, etc, you can buy one printer that is USB ,and the other that is Parrallel(or both USB) to do them simutaneously, unless you have 2 Parallel ports cant really do both printers at the same time.

2)
K5 = Pentium
K6 = Pentium 2
Athlon = Pentium 3
Thunderbird = Pentium 3 Coppermine
Duron = Celeron

those are the rivals you should be comparing to, in simple terms, AMD performs as good or better for almost half the cost.

3) there are KVM consoles that allow you to connect upto 5 machines and share a single mouse, keyboard, and monitor between all 5.

nah nah i beat you too it :eek:P If in doubt get the Ball Pein Hammer out

also for #3 here is a review on an IoGear KVM unit

the only catch is your computers you want to route to a single monitor/keyboard etc must be USB enabled.
