Part 1: I work for a large company. We are currently using Dreamweaver 4 to develop online training content. We have multiple developers (20+) developing content on their PCs. We have set up a "gate keeper" scenario to move content from their PCs to a shared server then to a test webstie to have other developers and SMEs (subject matter experts) to review and QA the content. We have explored softawre such as PVCS and Source Save to incorporate version control, check-in check ut functionality but found it to cumbersome to deply. This gatekeeper approach is a short term, interim solution until we get a LCMS (Learning Content Management System). We will be using the gatekeeper scenario for approx. 6-8 months. My questions: Are others using Dreamweaver is this manner? How do you managing, and track development by multiple developers? How do you manage version control issues?
Part 2: A Dreamweaver storyboard template was developed in MS Word which mimics the templates we created in Dreamweaver. I have been playing with the idea of saving the storyboard as HTML within Word then importing through Dreamweaver and cleaning it up. Questions: How do we manage page breaks, feedback pages for questions (built in coursebuilder), etc? It would be very nice if our storyboard could import direclty into our Dreamweaver templates.
