Hello all. I've successfully created a website using access for my database. Everything runs fine on my personal server (win2000), which happens to be the same computer that the files are contained on, but when I upload them to the webserver that the site will be running on, my database isn't being found. I had the database setup using a DSN. Any ideas on why the new webserver isn't recognizing my database? The new server is a Windows2000 machine also.

My second question...since I ran into the first problem, I thought about using MS SQL Server. Is there any way to setup a SQL Server connection in UltraDev the way you would set up an Access connection (point & click), or would all of this have to be hand coded? I've tried to use Modify->Connections, and put in a connections string, but am having no luck with that at all. Can anyone help me with any of my problems? I'd really appreciate the help. I had this headache for a while now. Thanks in advance.

What is the error message that your new server is giving you? I suspect that your DSN has not been set up on the new server, but it's hard to say from what you have posted.

If you set up the same DSN name on the new server, then everything should just port right over.

lemme know -

okay...finally got the sql server connection setup correctly. tested it, and received a successful message. now, when i try to submit my registration page, i get this message:

Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80004005'
[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified

/cgi-bin/registration.asp, line 27

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to solve my problem? The server is running win2k. there is an option for having frontpage extensions installed. Can this be my problem? I'm using UltraDev 4. With everything set up for vbscript. Thanks for any help

That message means that your DSN is either not set up correctly, or your connection string isn't referencing it properly --

Without any of your code, it's really difficult to help.
