2 NT4 PC with Netbeui can't "talk"

Check this: 2 PCs with nt4ws, have tcpip and can ping each other fine. They also have netbeui but can't see each other in net neighbourhood so that I can share files and make one of them like a server PC ... Any ideas?

Have you checked your cables?

What cabling method are you using?

Have you enabled File sharing?

Sorry for the basic questions, but obviously I need to know this to troubleshoot further!

As he mentioned, some basic questions need to be cleared 'just in case'.

Are you using a privileged account for trying to create the shares?

Are both PC's in the same workgroup?

Same Subnets? -> This might be ok since they ping. But maybe there are other issues relating the routing and filtering of some sort!

And now for the MS answer of the day!.... Did you apply the latest and greatest "service pack"!!!

Try puting the entries into the HOSTS file. That will solve the problem you're having.
