Hi all,

I have two Dell 1703FP digital flat panel displays. I'd like to be able to connect both to my PC in order to expand my desktop (Have monitors showing different things rather than the same).

What video cards out there permit multiple digital monitor support? OR if this does not exist which video cards permit multiple analog monitor support. Thanks for you help!

The 1730FP is a good quality monitor with a DVI input. I recommend that you use the DVI inputs as they have a significantly edge over Analogue inputs and remove some of the unnecessary processing overheads.

That said, this does mean that you are limited to a top-end graphics card to support dual-DVI monitors. The nVidia 6800 (available in both AGP or PCIE formats) is available with dual DVI. There are probably RADEON cards too but be careful to make sure the card you chose definitely has 2 x DVI outputs as the majority of cards have 1 x DVI and 1 x Analogue with a DVI to analogue adapter.

If you're willing to accept one DVI connection and one analogue then pretty much any graphics card that you can buy should do the trick. Only ultra low-budget ones have single monitor outputs these days.

The driver software will give you the option to show the same display on both, spread your desktop across both or do several other fancy things.

Thanks for the advice guys.
I think I'll stick w/ one DVI and one analog connection for now (nVidia GeForce). Once the price of the nVidia 6800 decreases I might consider considering it lol.

Thanks again!

Can't say I blame you fot that decision: it is a bit price-shocker!
