Hi guys, Wasn't sure where to post this question, but you've given me good advise in the past so here goes.

At home I have 2 phone lines and I'm looking for a simple 2 line system that can have wireless phones in various room, that can answer any of the lines, transfer them and also page other handsets.

In essence a wireless switchboard for 2 lines.

The only 1 I found in the UK was a Dectsys system, but quality/functionality/signal is poor. In the States ther are other models Vtech, Panasonic, but I'd need to import them.

There must be a UK solution available?

Thanks in advance,
Jez.

Doktor,

I have a LDK-16e in our old warehouse would that work?

I guess the reason why I didn't consider the LDk's is because you need to have the DECT handsets connected to the switchboard, which means running cables around the house abck to the switchboard - unless there is some method I don't know about?

What I wanted was a plug&play system, which the DectSys system gave me, but the call quality is so poor.

Cheers,
Jez.

If you can arrange for a DECT system with analogue extension ports, then you can use the GDK-16.
It will give you all PBX facilities needed, also the intercom possibility.
Find some second hand GAP DECT handsets from LG, Philips, Siemens or Panasonic and register them to the DECT system and you will have a good system.
As the small DECT system, I can recommend KIRK-500 (now Polycom).

Doktor,

How easy is the 16e to program?

Also by going for it am I loosing functionality (VOIP, connecting to Broadband etc.)

When searching for a KIRK-500 I did find a "GCom Circle 3 Line/10 extension Cordless PBX Phone System".

Looks like a plug/play system. It's cheaper than a 500, but would it have as much functionality as a 16e or LDK-24?

Cheers,
Jez.

With GDK you will only have non-IP functinality.
With LDK 24 you can have IP phones and DECT.
With KIRK 500 you will get DECT to an analogue extension Line but with high quality of speech.

Hi Jez,

The ipLDK 24 or in UK its a Nexer
There are still quite a few systems around - they have an option for a WTIBE (GAP DECT) as well as Keyset and POTs

Steve,

Being a non phone person,m can you explian what Keyset and POT's are?

Cheers,
Jez.

Keyset is a digital phone - just like the main operator would have... Display phone with buttons down the side...

A POT or Plain Old Telephone - just like the ones you would use at home...

Hope that helps

Regards
Steve
