Installed new RAM in my server to bring it up to 1.5GB. Server immediately halted on a STOP 0x50 and continued to reboot itself.

Installed only 1GB of memory and same errors occured. I will test the memory to see if defective. Is there any issuses with NT Servcer 4.0 with SP5 High Encryption concerning 1GB RAM and above??

I had a STOP error the other day when I was setting up an NT4 standalone server.

I started out with 2x256 dimms.

That works fine.

I put in an additional 512 dimm.

Boots up ok, but when copying files across a network it would STOP.

Tried taking the 2x256s out and 2x512s instead, did the same thing.

I put the two 256s back in and it works fine now.

I guess it's just a case of the memory having to be absolutely compatible with your motherboard.

Bad 512MB DIMM. Tried them all in another PC, CRASH!!
Having it replaced today.
