Does anyone know of a snmp oid that will have the switch respond with the type, standard or Enterprise, of OS its running ?

Hi,

Have you tried : 1.3.6.1.2.1.1.1 - sysDescr ?

The sysDescr MIB value in Cisco devices often shows info about the device and software image.

Yes.

That doesnt provide the information I need.

Telnet script, loggin in then out ... quite time consuming ... but it works.
