18D Displays going bad

What could cause 18D displays on Euro series 2 to go bad in a location over a period of 1 1/2 to 2 years,
ACS rel 6 with 308EC large PC mail in 5 slot cab.
7 out of 10 sets now have defective or partial displays?

I read elsewhere that there was a run of 18D sets with bad or weak displays. Replace them as they fail.

If it ain't broke, I haven't fixed it yet.

Other than manufacturing defects, my experience is the P18D2s (Partner Euro 18D series 2) don't last as long as earlier series 1 sets, especially the handsets! I have also replaced ones because of the display fading in the middle.

If Avaya only reintroduced the MLT sets with larger displays, etc., that is the only Partner set that looks good, and has a reliable handset.
