1608i VLAN Identified Issue

Our IPO and VM Server were powered down for a rack upgrade and were off the network for about 1 hour. After powering up the 500v2 and the VM Server everything came back including 50 9611G's, however the 1608's completely lost their VLAN ID and wouldn't link up. This seems to be an issue with the 1608 phones specifically.

Your network does not have a proper setup or you are not telling everything.
Where do these phones get there VLAN id from?

They are getting their VLAN ID from programming the phone. All the other phones were fine and did not lose VLAN IDs. Where else would they get their VLAN ID from?

DHCP?

You should not put it in by hand.
The DHCP server should provide all the settings.
Are you programming all settings by hand?

No, I am programming the call and http server along with the VLAN id. If I just plug the phone in without that it's going to get DHCP from their windows DC

You should add option 242 in there DHCP serve with only the vlan information.
Then in the voice vlan only add the callserver address, mcport and fileserver address.

you should use the DHCP from their LAN and program the scopes for this info.

If the phones pull DHCP from their LAN how would that get translated to the VLAN.

Also, do I need Cisco switches for that plug & play functionality?

With option 242 with a string in it telling the phone to go to the voice vlan.
