1601R Flashcard. What can I use?

Hi, just got myself a used 1601R with an 11.3IOS and a 4Mb flashcard.
What kind of flashcard can I put in it so I can load a newer (and bigger) IOS on to it? Tried with a standard 40Mb from a PC, FAT32 formated. But the Router could not see it...
Must it be formated in a spesial way?

A "regular" flash mem like that should work, but!
