Cisco's documentation at the moment indicates that a 1602 will not support an ethernet wic. I remember a while back that their marketing info put forth the notion that the 1600-series' modularity was a major benefit and that it would support a vast array of wics.

Anyone have a definite answer? I don't want to spend almost $200 for an item that will not work in this router. And of course Cisco won't tell you the facts because they want everyone to buy 1700 series boxes now. Thanks for your help! Email me! denodave@yahoo.com

Hi

The issue is that there is no IOS that supports a second ethernet interface.

If you want two ethernet interfaces, get a 1605 which still has the WIC interface available.
