15 Gig Mailbox question

I have a mailbox that has over 15 Gig of E-Mail in it. Is there a way other than Exmerge to get the mail from this account to an area that it can be saved to for quick access?

The account is so big that it takes ou tlook forever to open up, OWA is a little better. I tried exmerging last week, but I almost ran out of Log Space on the server and it took it over 1.5 hours to exmerge and delete 400 mig of messages.

We are running Exchange 2000 Enterprise in a clustered environment.

Any help is apreciated.

15GB? Good gosh!

You could archive using a date method so that each archive covered "X" year, or "X" month, etc. Then copy that archive off to a CD, duplicate it, keep a copy safe and let the user use the other one on a regular basis.
