1140E Intermittant weird Handset behaviour

Hi all,

We are gettting weird behaviour from 1140E handsets;

When an incoming call is presented to the handset, it doesnt actually ring but put out a loud constant tone and when the user picks up there is no speech.

They are real calls, not phantom calls. When you try again everything is fine.

The fault seems to be quite random - different floors and users.

they are on C60 firmware.
 
sounds like a faulty dsp - if you dial from another IP phone can you duplicate problem? If not would suspect DSPs.

Best way to find is call from a TDM phone and when you duplicate problem trace call - you may get 4 bad in a row then clear.

Once you identify DSP, try resetting and ten test again - if still a problem, replace card DSPs are on.
