SETUP:
Windows 2000 SP3 multihomed server with 1x 10Base2 run. Cable wasn't installed by myself but guestimating length is around 150metres. The cable is underground - its unknown whether there could be EMF interference.
There are 5 clients on the 10base2 run all Windows 2000 SP3 pro machines.
PROBLEM:
Random data corruption on bespoke software, programmer is blaming network.
INVEST:
No errors showing on the server/network card. When copying a large file from the server to one of these clients, you intermittently receieve the "Network cable disconnected". It flashes up and then disappears, copying continues. (All other clients were off at this time)
Would this indicate the cable run too long? - I have no experience of 10base2 cable on windows 2000. Any software people can recommeded for testing this cable?
Thanks
