100% height table

Hi, I'm having a problem with a table on my current website. because of the format I can't use frames so I've put a table set to 100% height and put a 2 pixel deep background image as the background to tile down the page, similar to what you would do in tiling the background of a frame. My problem is, although it tiles down to the bottom of the page as soon as you start to scroll the table doesn't seem to be expanding to stay at the bottom of the page, hence the background cuts off leaving a white space. Not a major problem but a bit of a design flaw. any ideas how to fix it? Spent a couple of hours on it yesterday but couldn't come up with anything useful

make a css style for background....set the background and set repeat to y
