Hi,

Does anyone know of a solution that will allow a mobile/cell phone to be used as a desk phone. Im sure I spoke to an avaya guy before about this and he said he used his mobile/cell as his desk phone and could also use the extension numbers with his mobile.

Thanks,

coolk

EC500 aka XMOBILE.

Why are people still using XMOBILE??? off-pbx-telephone is much easier to implement and maintain.

ChicagoPBX,

Can you explain what you mean by off-pbx telephone.

ChicagoPBX - we still use XMOBILE because we're on CM 1.3, and off-pbx-telephone came out in 2.0.

also off-pbx only works on certain types of telephones. example it wont work on a 74xx and i think 84xx series.

If you have cm 2.0 you can type
change off-pbx-telephone station-mapping ####(extension #)

below is the different sections that you have to configure and how I have mine configured

Station extension ####
Application EC500
Dial Prefix
Phone Number Cell phone number
Trunk Selection ARS
Configuration Set 1
Call Limit 1
Maping Mode both
Calls Allowed all
Bridged Calls both

Then all you have to do is program a ec500 button on your phone to turn the extensin to cellular on and off. And a extnd-call button, to transfer an existing call from your desk phone to your cell phone...

Either way you set it up, using Xmobile or off-pbx telephone, it works great... using off-pbx saves you from having to program a bunch of dummy extensions...
