Here's another 0xD1 query and how to fix this problem of Setup stalling as it "Setup is loading files" changes to "Setup is starting Windows".
Then we get this BSOD with
RIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
etc.

I've been toiling to get this Windows XP Pro to do a clean install for three months but to no avail.
Can anyone steer me in the right direction to install this successfully?
I've tried things like: underclocking,Fdisk and format and three/no partitions, basic cards/FDD/HDD/CD-ROM/IDE/SCSI/6graphics cards/AGP/PCI/ISA,also various selections/setting for memory sticks PC100 from 250-750 Mg and PC66 from 125-250 Mg on this gigabyte GA-6BXDU MOBO
with two Intel Pentium III 450 Mhz processors.
Also updated the BIOS and cleared the CMOS RAM/ROM and fitted new battery.
The puzzling thing is that another similar Computer is working fine on this O.S.,also an even older GA-686DLX is working fine too on this O.S.
Yours thankfully and looking forward with eager anticipation
