I think I have some type of virus. STOP: 0x0000007e (0xC0000005, 0x806A7F31, 0xFC8D357C, 0xFC8D3278) is what comes up when I boot. The big problem is I can't get in even in safe mode, It just comes to this screen and stops. Any help would be great.

Thanks
Scott

Did you install anything prior (updates, drivers, etc.) that may have caused this, or did it just pop up? Is there anything else associated with the error message like any specific text or filenames? Can you get to the Advanced Startup options screen at all? If so try "Last know good configuration". I'm sure this won't resolve the issue, but it is worth a try. Other than that I would boot into the Recovery Console, and run chkdsk /r from the command prompt and see if that fixes anything. After that, I would strip the computer to minimal hardware, and run it on only the CPU, Video Card, and one stick of RAM and see if you can boot. Then try to boot with the other RAM module by itself to isolate the RAM modules to determine if one of them is failing. You can also check for bad RAM with either Windows Memory Diagnostic or memtest86.

Try a Repair Install if none of these work. You will be able to keep your data, but you will need to reinstall all of your Windows updates.

- Perform a Repair Installation

If you still can't get it to boot, try getting your data off by using a BartPE CD to boot or a bootdisk. Or slave your drive to another computer and try grabbing it off that way. Matter of fact you may want to go ahead and do that to ensure your data will be safe. Then you can try a complete reinstall.
