We spoke with the people at Qwest and they want the encapsulation to be HDLC. At this point I'm just struggling to figure out if this WIC is bad so I can return it to the vendor. If the ALarm light is on with a loopback connector installed, what does that indicate? -

Nice catch!! The reason we're doing all this is because the password was lost to the original router. We decided to get a second router up and running before blowing the password out of the original. How do I reset the register back to normal? The following "show interface" output was taken... -

With the loopback plug connected, the CD light comes on and the AL light goes out. When I remove the cable to the T1 line, the AL light on the working WIC glows solid amber. However, when I do the same on the non-working WIC, the AL lamp glows solid red. Does this mean anything to anybody... -

I have a 1720 that I bought used and a WIC-1DSU-T1 module (that I bought from different source) installed in the first slot. When I power it up, the AL light eventually turns red and stays red. The CD light is green, and the "WIC 0 OK" light is green. Another, apparently identical, WIC works...
