    Merlin Messaging RS-232 Connection

Hello All- Our network recently was rebuilt and the Merlin Messaging IP Address is now no longer on the subnet of the new network. I am attempting to access the administration interface through a serial connection. I have found documentation that requires a 355AF adapter, DB25 to DB9 adapter...

    Merlin Unified Messaging 4.0 Problems

Thanks for your responses! I think I need to do less whining and make my questions a little more clear. I guess the bottom line question is this: Is it possible to set up the SMTP component to send mail to an SMTP server that requires a username and password to be verified before sending any...

    Merlin Unified Messaging 4.0 Problems

Hello all- I am having some serious problems getting UM up and running. We currently run Exchnage 2003 through a hosting provider, so using Exchange integration is obviously a no-go. However, I tried getting the SMTP option working, still a no-go. It seems that our Exchange host performs a...

Only the message light is blinking on 4412D+

Here is the output from the slot status: LED: Ron Yoff Goff Errors: no Mode: Standby Alarms: no Maintenance Busy: no I am thinking that Ron means that the red light is on, and there is an error on the card, but why does Errors: no show up?

Only the message light is blinking on 4412D+

Well, no one is on phone connected to this slot. I get a RESET SLOT FAILED message. You know this is pretty weird, considering this was a brand new module still sealed in original Avaya packaging. It seemed to be working correctly when I began programming the station port. What to do??

Only the message light is blinking on 4412D+

I have tried resetting the slot (#7), and busying out the slot, and both attempts give me a FAILED message. Do I need to make sure that the system is not in use before I attempt this?

Only the message light is blinking on 4412D+

Yes, I renumbered the block of extensions on the board to become 3-digit extensions in sequence with the existing system. If I go through SPM Maintenance -> Slot-> Reset What will happen? Will the system need to reboot afterward? Will it take it to factory defaults?

Only the message light is blinking on 4412D+

Thanks for the reply Pepperz. The wiring checks OK. I have switched sets with a known 'good' phone, and still nothing. It also seems as though every port on the card has the same result when a phone is plugged into it. I was programming this phone after an install of a new 024TDL module. I...

Only the message light is blinking on 4412D+

Hello everyone! I was in the middle of programming a 4412D+ connected to an 024TDL module using SocketSPM when SocketSPM "Blew Up". Now the only thing that will light up on the phone is the Message Light and it is blinking. No dial tone, no info on display, everything is dead. I have tried...

Adding 024TDL Module to existing system

Thanks for the reply Tom. I did the board renumber, however, all of the extensions on the new card are four digit extensions 7156-7179. When the system was originally set up, it was programmed to have 3 digit extensions. Do I need to do the Set Up Space function? Thanks Again, B

HOW-To: convert voicemail message to audio file

Thanks for your post Tom! I am currently running Merlin Messaging 4.0.42. I tried backing up the VM system. It seems to me that all configuration info and VM messages are saved in a proprietary format and not as separate files. If anyone else knows any different ... What about using Unified...

Upgrade Merlin Messaging from 4.0.42 to 4.0.43

Hello, Does anyone know how to upgrade the Merlin Messaging software from 4.0.42 to 4.0.43? There is a new feature in 4.0.43 that I could really use. I posted a topic in this forum about it: http://www.tek-tips.com/viewthread.cfm?qid=1029121&page=2 Apparently, Avaya has implemented an...

    Lucent 4424LD+

The Avaya Part Number for the auxillary power supply is: PEC 4499-PWR. I don't know if it is against forum policy to furnish advertisements, but there are a few places online that you can purchase one. Some sites that I have found helpful are: www.twacomm.com www.metrolinedirect.com...

Security Codes For Long Distance Access

Hello All, With our old Partner System, all users were required to enter a 3-digit number into the phone system before being allowed to connect an outgoing Long Distance call. These 3-digit numbers were assigned by the phone company. How do I implement this functionality in Magix? I am...
