Thanks for the response. We've tried plotting to .pdf and all our plotters and have the same problem. Would you know what to look at if it's seeming to be and AutoCad problem?
Has anyone had the problem of your contour labels flipping upside down when you plot? They appear right side up on the screen and then upside down when plotted. We've tried checking and unchecking the boxes for "make plan readable" and "label positive slope" in the contour style manager...
The description key file is a list of possible descriptors that are associated with data points. When I bring the points into my AutoCad drawing it acts as a filter in a way and finds the description and then looks at the description key file to tell it what to do with that point. For...
I am using AutoCad 2000. I have an existing .mdb description key file. I opened it in EXCEL and made some changes. What type of file am I supposed to save it to in EXCEL then. .mdb is not an option. Then how do I get it into my drawing. Any suggestions. Thanks.
We just got new "high-speed" CD-RWs and I can't seem to format them in my Windows 98. We can format them in XP, but they are IBMs and use DLA which I can't read with 98. Do I need a "slow-speed" CD to be able to format it in Windows 98? HELP!
Yes I did make sure the "control" was set to "all". I did also try the regen all command. The control line says that it is undoing the line command, but the lines are still there. I also have AutoCad R14 on the same computer and have no problems like this. Do you have any other suggestions...
I am using Auto Cad 2000. For some reason my undo command will only undo zoom commands. If I draw several lines and zoom a couple of times then hit undo, it will say it is undoing each command including lines, but the lines are still there. Same for erase, trim, extend, etc. I tried changing...
I have periodically had this problem. I draw a line connecting two nodes. Then when I try to draw a seperate line perpendicular to the previous line, it does not go perpendicular. Then if I try to join the 2 lines as a polyline, I get an error message telling me that they are not coplanar. I...
I am trying to install AutoCad 2000 on my computer that has an operating system of Windows XP Home Edition. AutoCad 2000 was designed to run with Windows 95 and Windows 98. I was successful on another computer with Windows XP Pro by running the program compatability Wizard and telling AutoCad...
We have also been unsuccessfully attempting to run DOS with Windows XP. We thought about installing Windows 98 along with Windows XP, but were told that was asking for trouble to have 2 operating systems in the same computer. We have been forced to learn to import points in windows and are...
How do I tell AutoCad 2000 to put points on seperate layers according to the descriptions. In 14 it was the command Change Layers by Description under the Utility1 pull down menu. I still can access that menu in 2000, but when I select the points that I imported in 2000 it does not change...
Dear renegade and katcar,
I hope you both are still using this site. I am having problems plotting word documents as OLE objects in R14 and 2000. I came across your threads and thought I would give your suggestions a shot. It worked better than an OLE object, but when I paste the copied word...
I was looking through all the threads and found this. goyo if you still check this, did you ever fix you OLE printing problem? I am having the same problem with AutoCad 2000. Sometimes it prints just fine, but sometimes it's just like you said a lousy bitmap image. Did you find any solutions?
We are trying to insert word documents in AutoCad drawings as OLE objects. I can get them in fine and they look good on the screen, but will not plot consistently. We found that we need a different driver for R14 to plot, but in 2000 I can sometimes get it to plot correctly and sometimes the...
I periodically have the problem that when I try to open an AutoCad 14 drawing, I get an illegal operation error message. It says Acad caused an invalid page fault in Kernel32.dll. I have been able to fix it in the past by opening a new AutoCad session and inserting the corrupt file into it...
