dpu,
Bet it's the NAT. Can you set your VM to bridged vs. NAT? I have some coworkers that have this setup and it works. Alternatively you can try to VPN from the client VM and see if that works - it's essentially bypassing the NAT.
It would be worthwhile to run callviewer and port status monitor when you call into Unity. Both are available via the Unity Tools Depot icon on the desktop of the Unity server.
Be sure to hit the double play button on port status monitor to monitor all voicemail ports. Use the call viewer...
krmctech,
Can you provide the isdn q931 debugs for the calls that you're trying to route? Are you trying to include the * or # in the initial setup or during a call (like to navigate an IVR or something)?
What signaling are you using between Callmanager and the gateway (h323 or mgcp)? What...
Nitrokid,
It's not necessary to run separate infrastructure except in the most extreme of circumstances. Proper quality of service (QoS) configuration will prioritize the VoIP traffic even during periods of heavy utilisation without missing a beat.
Does anyone know of a public place where i...
Tomahawk,
The ASA feature to proxy the stream is going to be released as part of the new code due out this month. I think it's version 8.0(4).
You shouldn't need this though - talk to TAC and get the firewall issue worked out. I bet it's like 1 command :)
the audio works when the users call...
Sympology,
Yeah, Cisco kit normally keeps it all 'off bus,' meaning the IP endpoints stream audio to each other directly, except for when/if the server is doing software conferencing. There are some security products that can be used to 'proxy' the streams (I think the ASA, for example) if...
rainman,
Interesting! I couldn't find the answer to your question, but it seems totally doable. I would suggest reposting this on cisco-nas (at) puck.nether.net - there are some real access server pros on that list.
Steven,
Try these commands:
set network failover {enable | disable}
and
show network failover [detail] [page]
This enables Network Fault Tolerance, which enables both ports in a redundancy mode and does not result in higher throughput.
Platform GUI Show->Network will show eth0, eth1 and...
Nitrokid,
You have the right basic idea; the whole concept around VoIP is that you should be able to continue to use the existing enterprise-grade data network to run the phones. There may be some upgrades necessary on routers to interconnect to the PSTN, but I've actually spoken to a few...
krsnavan,
I understand that learning about this to make a recommendation can be challenging. Easiest way to do this, guaranteed, is to talk to the local sales teams for some major vendors - have them 'educate' you on the different solutions, protocols in use and roadmap. Just don't make any...
tomahawk,
This is a VPN concentrator problem. I've dealt with these in the past, and can't remember the specific 'feature' or phrase used to define this.
Think about it this way, the signaling for the phones all are like this, right:
phone<-->vpn<--->concentrator<--->callmanager...
Patrichek,
In past rollouts I've used Chariot to test/stress a CUCM system - that's probably pretty costly, and I'm not very familiar with the back-end.
What sort of system do you have? It's probably going to be pretty tough to stress a platform that can handle 250,000BHCA by just calling...
Tony,
definitely do as pndscm says - nothing beats q931 debugs. If you can't tell what's going on with them, post the debug here for a test call and we'll look it over.
telnet in the gateway
enable
issue the 'terminal monitor' command
(turn on logging on your terminal emulator program)
issue a...
Snootalope,
You may be able to compare the dateTimeConnect(audio connect) & dateTimeOrigination(call setup happens) times. Each ring cycle is 4 seconds (2 sec ring, 2 sec silence).
Telecomatt,
Make sure you setup the voip dial-peers from the CME as well.
Let me see if I can hack together a sample config - let's say your handsets are 1000-1999, and you want to add the vg224s in the 2XXX range. We'll say VG224 #1 (192.168.1.150) is going to be 2100-2123.
CME...
pretty old message, but, this could totally be related to which telco circuits you are traversing. I don't know what residential telephone utilization statistics look like, but I would guess that after 6pm you end up utilizing sub-standard circuits to call your ISP (of course, through no fault...
Hi richardmis! If I remember correctly, the TEI message you posted is basically the router trying to reset the BRI at the q921/OSI layer 2 level.
It's been forever since I've had to troubleshoot a basic-net3 circuit, so, I can't remember 100% what a TEI of 255 means. I'm pretty sure it means...
overlap & enbloc usually cause your call processing nodes to do digit analysis/call routing differently, at least in Cisco gear it does.
I seem to remember something peculiar around having multiple devices on an S/T bus and how overlap-receiving is used, but it's been a long time since I've...
sjs950,
Ah, it really does sound like a carrier issue then - if you're trying to pic to a different ixc and using 56k and stuff. The only thing I would suggest is to try to qualify both of the endpoints - check 'show controller' output and try some loopback calls (to/from the same PRI/BRI) to...
