    Graph based on two queries

Hi, I have produced a graph in CR10 connecting to a sqlite database used by our helpdesk software (Spiceworks). For a six week period, it shows all tickets raised for each week as a bar on the graph (acheived by using "On change of" createDate and "Show Values" as a Count on the tables ID...

    mysqld starts but then hangs

I am using MySQL 5.0 on SuseLinux 9.1, when I start mysqld it starts ok but then hangs. This is a problem when attached to a run level, as the blocked process prevents the boot from continuing. Is this a known issues? Is there a simple way to start mysqld as a seperate process? Thanks

    Java Mail

Thank you for your comments I was using POP but have now configured my server to use IMAP, and so have access to the full folder structure within the mailbox. I can therefore move mail items to another folder once processed, as suggested Thanks again

    Java Mail

I am developing an application using JavaMail. The program scans a mailbox from MS Exchange Server and processes each item. I need a simple way of determining whether an item has been processed already (rather than using a database or file to record this, I was hoping to interact with Exchange...

    MS Outlook Address export

Is there a way to export the addresses in MS Outlook to CSV, not address from the Contacts but rather the email addresses that are held in memory for convenience - this would be all addresses previously used, obtained by typing the first few characters in the To field when preparing a new email?

Installing MySQL 5.0 on Suselinux 9.1

I am attempting to run MySQL 5.0 on Suselinux 9.1 but I am having some difficulty with a conflict with the bundled version of MySQL. I have stopped the bundled server but when I started the 5.0 server, mysqld, I get: Cant start server: Bind on TCP/IP port: Address already in use followed by...

    Zero Date

Hi and thanks for your help. I have found a solution by setting the "Convert Database NULL values to default", found in File -> Report Options. With this set I can then use ToText({datefield}) = "" in the Select Expert. When I use MySQL to query my database, the 'zero dates' as I call them...

    Zero Date

I have just tried that but it doesnt make a difference. Nothing appears in the SQL that Crystal produces, I am assuming this is because the formula ToText is evaluated at a later stage. However, the results are not as expected so for some reason this is not working as intended. By default...

    Zero Date

I have a simple problem (hopefully). I need to test for zero dates (0000-00-00) in my report. How can I do this using the select expert? I tried Date(0000,00,00) but this seems to evaluate to {d '-4714-12-31'} in the final SQL produced by Crystal. I need the final SQL to simply be: =...

    Reusable parameters

I am using CR10 and have a parameter with a long list of default values. Is there anyway I can copy this parameter into other reports or do I have to key the whole list in for each report that requires this parameter?

    URL Reporting login prompt

I am using CE10 Express and have set up URL reporting. This works fine for a while and then all of a sudden begins prompting users for login details, even though they have been supplied as parameters using &apsuser and &apspassword. Furthermore, the login screen that appears does not accept...

    Subreport in supressed section

Yes, I have now tried the tiny sized version and that seems to be ok. I also used hidden sections within the actual subreport itself and that is more or less what I want Thanks

    Subreport in supressed section

I have a report that uses a subreport to list data, a total of which is calculated and placed in the main report. I only want the listed data to be shown on drill down. I use a shared variable to pass the total into the main report, but when the section containing the report is supressed, this...

    Grouping question

Thanks Subreporting is the answer and not too expensive on resources, as the subreport simply lists a dozen or so records for each group iteration. I need to think more about the SQL query that Crystal generates to list the data, and no such query could be written to list table B rows...
