    This might be a bit outdate, but I'm getting the same Run error 2640 attempting to use runcommand to open a table, delete contents, open a new table, copy contents and paste into the old table. Did you resolve the error?

    Well, I can't simply unprotect it, because then the user could change anything. I want to leave it protected but allow the user to add comments.

    How can I allow the user to insert comments into unlocked cells when the sheet is protected? I've noticed that when the sheet is protected, the insert comment option is disabled. Anyway to disable the disabling?

    They have to be able to make changes to the file. Each user purchases their own copy and I'm trying to prevent users from purchasing one copy and distributing it to their friends.
