I attached the device, but this caused the server to hang, so I assumed it crashed. Is it best to power the server off before attaching the device? Thanks.

I've connected up a Dat 72 drive to a server running Solaris 8, but when I run the command mt -f /dev/rmt/0 status, it say's /dev/rmt/0: No such file or directory. Is there a patch I need to install. I have ran a devfsadm, but I still get the same. Any help appreciated.
