Trunk was set UNR from the beginning.
I did the same look through the NTPs. Can't explain, but at least it works. If anyone could explain, would like to understand, since this is not likely the last tie line permissions issue to be addressed through this phased migration.
Thanks to all.
Explanation - The PRI connects a Nortel Option 11C with a TDM/SIP gateway to a server-based VoIP PBX. We are just beginning the migration of users from the TDM (Nortel) switch over to the VoIP solution, and the gateway provides dialing transparency and alternate routes until the migration is...
Route is TGAR 1 and "set" (PRI channel) TGAR 0, but would not allow dialing until CLS set to MTA.
Also noticed that a print of the TIE channel does not display MTA in the CLS. Is that normal? A channel without MTA set will not dial.
What would prevent an incoming tie line (PRI channel) caller from directly dialing an ACOD in the Nortel (old 25.40b) switch? TGAR on channels is set to 0.
Thanks,
Bruce
Not sure that this situation will be one that anyone here has experienced, but it sounds close to a problem that I've had in the past.
We have a DID station number that does not appear on a telephone set. It is setup as an ACD with an NCFW to the lead number in a TDM/SIP gateway that routes the...
Hate to admit it, but not sure where receivers are located on these small systems. Am guessing that they must be part of the SSC, since there are only peripheral cards other than the SSC?
I did load the database for this system on a spare SSC, so that might be an issue.
Have done a lot of rework on several phone systems (SSC cards and daughterboards changed, databases restored from archives, etc.) over the past weekend, and have one remaining trouble:
On one system, all fax machines can receive faxes, but none has a dialtone, and none can dial out.
Ideas...
Will need to try a couple other variants of this issue, but can tell you that it worked (practice runs only), with or without XRT in LD 143. XRT did clear the internal backup, however.
I complicated matters by leaving 20 databases from 7 switch sites on the flash card. As the system will only...
No MM or Symposium. Am trying it now....will report back. Only difference in the doc vs what I did previously is that it suggests completing re-install with the sample db, where "live" one.
Thanks
I had read you guide awhile back, but will go back to that again.
What "applications" could be dependent on the security of the dongle? I took an intuitive approach to it with LD 143 with an extra switch, and it didn't seem to like the database from the other system.
Thanks for help.
Is it possible to restore a database that was archived on one Release 25.40 Option 11C system to another?
Have a situation where networking requirements at one location cannot be supported by the features available on that switch. Have another location that doesn't require those networking...
That's what I've found John.
I've found ways to make everything work, but it's a little more cobbed up than hoped. It still seems like a better alternative than investing heavily in Nortel upgrades, particularly given the uncertain future of the combined companies (Avaya/Nortel).
Thanks to...
Sorry for inaccurate start to this. Wrong information was provided previously - I made an assumption that was not correct, and trvlr1 pointed me to check that. When I turned on D channel monitor, saw calls moving across tie route.
Calls ARE routing correctly, but problem is this - If the...
On your first two thoughts - it is an existing route and there is not a DSC on the destination end pointing back to the originating switch.
I have traced call, and it lands at the receptionist on the originating switch.
Good thought on the ACOD - feel certain that will work, but if it doesn't...
After reading over what I posted, think issue may not be clear. Purpose of doing this interim DSC thing is to allow 4-digit CDP to function with 4XXX extensions residing in 2 switches.
