Hello,
In the device configuration you could work with groups. I.e you assign a drive with X slots to do your daily backups and then you assign another drive with X slots to do you weekly/monthly backups.
Once that is complete you assign your jobs to the daily/weekly/monthly device groups...
Hi,
When you clone a PC you'll get the same GUID for each "clone" or install.

Hi,
We've got an issue with the SMS_Executive and SMS_Site_Component_Manager services.
After the backup of the secondary site server is completed these two services do not start. Sometimes they do and sometimes they don't....
Any idea why or is there a patch available to solve this issue...
I will then have to restore all the data from that media, right?
We did another test today where I de-installed arcserve and reinstalled it and merged these two tapes again.
What I found very strange are the restore sessions. For this backup there are two restore sessions available, one is...

Hi,
We have an issue when restoring files on a server with Arcserve 11.5.
The tapes are from 2006 and after merging them into the database I can only see the session 00001 and 00002. The problem is that I don't see the subfolders for each session, which I do on newly performed backups. The...
I don't really think that it's the same job ID for two different jobs. You probably have a pruning job that runs before the actual backup job and because of that it looks like it is the same job, but it's not.

I think that you get this information via the SMS scan and that is where the problem lies.
I.e If your scan is set to run once per week on Monday and you run your report where you see that machine xy has a pst file under C:\Temp folder. Then you delete the file on Tuesday and run another report...
Hi,
I would like to find out how many tape library agents I have installed on all my domain servers. Is there an executable or DLL under the arcserve installation folder that will allow me to query for this information via SMS for example?
Thanks,
GSC
Hi,
I've got thousands of error messages in my SMS Distribution Manager regarding a DP that is no longer available.
The local IT simply shut down the server and moved it to another location where they have reinstalle the machine. I have removed all packages and deleted the server as SMS DP but...
Is the tape library agent installed?
Have you been able to see the Autoloader through the device configuration before?
I hope you find this post helpful.

You should keep your Windows driver for the SDLT disabled! If they are enabled they will conflict with Arcserve.
Disable the loader in the windows device manager and reboot your server. After the restart you should run a device configuration in arcserve to solve this issue.
I hope you find this...
At a minimum you'll need the System State and the Exchange Server (either via Exchange Agent or a flat file). For the other stuff, C-drive and so on, I would say that it is depending on what your DR plan is.
How to you plan to restore a server in the case of a disaster? Reinstall it from scratch...
