    Thank you all for your comments, i think it is a permisson problem, becuase when i follow "sedj" instructions i type "use mysql" and it comes back with ERROR - access denied for user: '@localhost' to database 'mysql' but how do i change permission on the database??

    hi i have installed mysql. (windows) the manual is not very helpful!! i simply want to know how i get a database connected. or what i am suposed to do next. I can't belive something so useful and easy, can be made so hard to install.
