    Hello i am building a new pc with a ASUS A7V8X-X motherboard athlon barton 2800 cpu and 512 sdd 400mhz ram and a 120 gig hard drive i intend to run XP Pro and want to know if i can also use the 40 gig hard drive out of my old pc that is running ME and keep all the data so i dont have to copy it...

    Thanks for the help i think it must be the M/B , all the drives H/D, CDROM CDRW, and Floppy are new. I have tryed the drives in my pc and all work ok, all the IDE cables are keyed. And i have even put the drives out of my PC into it and still no luck thanks colin

    Yes i have checked all the jumper settings and the bios and every other thing i can think of even got a friend to try and he had the same problem, All i get is a screen looking for floppy not found looking for cd not found etc

    I am building a pc with a gygabyte GA-72XR mother board and i cant get it to find any drives anyone got any ideas
