Thanks for the feedback everyone.
Answers to issues raised:
1. Database connection used in all cases is Oracle native.
2. Why varchar? Unfortunately, programmers did not consult reporting team before development (sound familiar? grrr!) and it's now a relatively big deal to get it changed -...
Hi there,
I use Crystal Reports and Crystal Enterprise v10, reporting from an Oracle 9i database in a Unix environment.
For this report, I have a single table data source that contains records of jobs run. Each record contains the job's Start_DateTime and the Finish_DateTime - however, they...
Has anyone ever experienced limitations on the file size for an exported, delimited text file from Crystal v10?
We run reports through CE v10 off an Oracle 9i database on a Unix (Solaris) platform.
Up to now, no problems, but the largest file size is about 30MB. We expect to increase to...
I am using Crystal Enterprise XI, oracle 10g and have the following issue with a very large financial reconciliation report.
The report needs to run for a date range and for a Location and then for a site or sites within that location.
I have created an SP which has the from & to dates as...
Hi,
I am using CR10 with oracle 9i and native driver connection. I have created a stored procedure within a package ie consisting of the package & package body - all as per the BO white paper. However, when selecting SP for data source it does not show up and yes the SP option is ticked under...
We are running CE10 on a unix platform and need to produce monthly stat files. These can be VERY large and the output needs to be to pipe delimited txt files. However, due to the ongoing bug in crystal, of csv exports not doing the suppression, this a real headache for me. I cannot export to...
This is a unix environment, not windows...sigh. The report is being called by a java routine and then passed to the unix print spooler. For some reason the print commands inbedded in the package is over-riding the print control commands in unix.
We have a report which is printed in duplex, (controlled by printer settings), however, it will not collate when multiple copies requested. ie. the 2nd page 1 prints on the back of the first page 1 etc. Is there any way to imbed a proscript command to force collation? Thanks.
Hi there,
We have CE 10 (on a Unix platform) reporting from an Oracle 9i DB using the Native Oracle driver (CE doesn't support ODBC on Unix). If I schedule reports to output as Crystal Reports, or Excel files, the date format appears as DD/MM/YY, which is correct - for Australia! However...
Thanks Brian,
I guess that's the path I would have headed, but your technique provides a real elegant solution... not to mention one that could be standardised over the whole suite of reports.
Many thanks! And what a swift reply! Thanks Tek-Tips for a terrific forum!!
Mike
Hi there,
I am having trouble running reports from CE 10 which needs to run automatically for the previous day. In CR, when running a report with a date parameter, the parameter defaults to the CurrentDate. This makes it easy to create conditional Record Selection, such as "if {?Date} =...
