Its now been 2 weeks and I have still not heard anything back from Quark support on this! This also means that I'v been unable to create any documents for 2 weeks and I'm losing business from this.
Does anyone else have any ideas?
It could be. I have 2 NT shared folders on my desktop as well as a shared folder from another mac. I have however tried disconnecting these but the problem still exists!
I also tried rebuilding my desktop, which had no effect.
With regards to shared stuff... I have had issues in the past...

The problem occurs when I start up Quark and try to open an existing document. The default path is set to the Macintosh HD but if I select the desktop (via the drop down list or the desktop button), the timer icon appears and the whole program...
