Flashing Yellow Icon in Quick look

Shoretel's tests are horrible. Even worse is the knowledge base on their website.

The light generally means there is an ip phone that the system saw and no longer sees

Cisco IP and Shore Tel IP phone systems

Shoretel does allow some third party SIP phones. I replaced a Cisco system with the Shoretel system. The school system had Cisco 7960 phone sets. We integrated these as SIP phones on the Shoretel system.

Cisco IP and Shore Tel IP phone systems

How is call parking difficult? You can park a call on your extension, another person's extension or a park zone. To unpark I press the unpark button and enter the number of the extension or zone the call is parked on. If the call is parked on my extension, I left the handset.

Cisco IP and Shore Tel IP phone systems

I have experience with installing Shoretel and the IP Office. Shoretel is much easier to manage and much more reliable. I dont deal with cost very often, but I have always seen Cisco as the more expensive option.

    120/24 vs 24A

The 24A is more cost effective. One thing to consider is the 24A can only do analog connections. With the 120/24 you could use the ports as analog or IP. I had a customer who bought a 24A. They used these for faxes and credit card machines. A year later they changed the credit card machines...

    restricting 911 from certain phones

I think 911 is a number you can not restrict. I have always been told there are legal reasons for making sure all phones can dial 911.

Config Notes Shortel to Nortel 61C/81C

Are local calls working? Is the provider controlling the auth code or the Nortel? If you send me your email address I can send you the Meridian 1 guide.

Config Notes Shortel to Nortel 61C/81C

I could only find integration to Meridian 1. Are you sure the Nortel PBX can do PRI integration?

Which VOIP system would be the best fit

I have experience with both ShoreTel and Avaya. There is really no comparison. ShoreTel blows Avaya away. The only Cisco experience I have is replacing them with ShoreTel. If you have specific questions, feel free to ask me.

    IP PBX for SMB

ShoreTel is a great product. Westi has said on others post another important factor is who you have installing the system. I can not agree more. The nice thing about ShoreTel is they will send out customer satisfaction surveys. If the company installing the systems receives poor scores...

Any thoughts on Ring Central or Shortel???

ShoreTel is a total VOIP solution. The product is great. Easy to install, easy to administer. Someone told Mugs wrong.

    Hunt group and voicemail

When calls come into a Hunt Group you can choose what happens when the call enters a no answer state. If you want you can send it to the general mailbox. In the Hunt Group you would also determine how many times it rings before it goes into the no answer state.

How to setup an alternate trunk group for 911 calls

Follow these instructions: SCENARIO: Customer has a HQ site with a PRI switch and a remote site with a ShoreGear switch configured with an Analog Loop Start Trunk Group and Trunks. The remote site can have a DVM server or can be a remote site with just a ShoreGear switches configured with IP...

How to forward calls from analog phones?

You could have the administrator setup a forwarding number in one of the call handling modes (Example: Custom Mode) When you need to forward the analog phone, you can change the call handling mode to custom by calling into the voicemail and changing modes.
