Yeah twisted pair is correct. Its a copper GBIC with RJ45 port. I also tried port 2 and same result. -

Okay I tried GBIC to GBIC still no link. Just to paint a picture I have Two Cisco 3550 with GBIC's in the 1st Gigabit port. The two GBICS are connected via twisted pair cat 5. Yet they still are both down, both lines down. -

On my 3550 the GBIC LED will not light. The switch is brand new GBIG is brand new. What do I need to do to initialize the GBIC?????
