    Clear failed print jobs

Cheers Bill, Ive read the stuff you linked. I must admit to being a tad disturbed at this point as it would appear that modern printer drivers are, for the want of a better description, shit! We are currently using Brother 5040 dual bin printers and i can assure you this is not an isolated...

Iam mapping to a share using net use by the way. When a problem occurs (ie: paper jam)the first job baulks the rest and...

Routerman, thread181-27567 if you check out this thread its my original post. Starting to wish I had stuck to basic engineering!

    Bridging on fast links.

We are bridging because access to the internet is through a third party 1603. However I configure the 805's I cant have access to the 1603's and too be honest Iam not that experienced. I did post here a few times for help but didnt really get any. If your interested in the problem i will mail...

    Bridging on fast links.

routerman, cheers for that. I take it from your comments that there is nothing obvious wrong with the configs? Its going to be a pain to do this as the routers are part of a UK rollout and the only link with a problem so far is 300 miles away! Bugger!

    Bridging on fast links.

Hi All, recently did a roll out of the 805 using the config shown. Seems to work ok except when used on a link faster than 128k. Anybody got a clue what the problem may be? I'am wondering whether the increased line speed causes too many re-transmits due to buffer overflows but being realistic i...

    cant ping dns server why?

Be that as it may you should not have an entry in your router for a dns server thats on an internal address. You have removed it from your config yet when you do a tracert it still goes to the internal address first. That indicates that all is not well with your config. I would definately copy...

    cant ping dns server why?

No the 10.0.0.2 is not good. Mind you i notice from your previous config that the dns server was originally 10.2.2.2 which has me a bit confused! Now i think one of your problems is that you are not removing entries from the config correctly. But you do appear to have a couple of configuration...

    cant ping dns server why?

arcolino, I have an idea what your problem is. Do a tracert to the dns server and let us know what the icmp reply is.

    Routing-Bridging speed issue.

Ok so if you were asked to configure the routers for speed only no other considerations would you pick bridging or routing?

    Routing-Bridging speed issue.

Can anyone give me a definitive explanation for bridging being faster than routing. As far as i am concerned this is the case but i have a client that has been told by British Telecom that to speed their x21 link up (1600's either end bridging) the routers should be switched from bridging to...

    Failed!!!

Cheers Guys, Problem was I hadnt had too much time to cram. Graduated from the academy top of my class last year and stupidly thought that i would still be able to pass. Thing is the academy stuff is all standard dot decimal format so when i got to do the exam i didnt know what the CIDR format...

    Failed!!!

Not too surprising failed with a 656! Not too happy as every question on subnetting was in the /28 style!!! Loads of the buggers as well. I reckon i bailed purely on the subnet stuff as all 3 sims i had required you work out correct subnets first! Plus at least another ten questions purely on...
