I tried the RPC ping from the remote site with success......urrrrrhhh. This indicates to me that the Application level of the TCP/IP stack is working OK.

Why is it that I cannot use Outlook at all though?? It stops responding as does outlook express.
Also OWA begins loading the inbox page but just seems to stop.... displaying a white page. In the status bar it says opening page as if it knows the server and everything but just doesnt quite...

I have a persistant ADSL connection to the internet via a netgear router for our LAN. I have installed exchange 2000 on a windows 2k server. Currently our ISP collects all our domain email and places it in a mail box on their server which we download using a vpop3 server. The vpop3 server...

Can anyone tell me the easiest way to apply group policies to my 98 clients using win2k server.

This is a tuffy. I have outlook 2000 running on my PC. I can generally send and receive emails without a problem except for receiving emails from other outlook 97 clients.

I am having trouble installing win2k on a pc with an internal zip drive. The PC hangs while displaying "setup is inspecting your computer's hardware configuration". I am aware of article kb Q252349. I have unplugged the zip drive and still have the same prob. I have contacted the PC...
still cannot ping the host header name from win98 clients. I eventually got around the problem by typing the servername/webname in the url.
All users can access my pages now using this method which will suffice.
Thanks

Here's the problem.

there is only one profile and it does not have the exchange server or internet mail configured.
the problem is that i want to configure internet mail but when i select tools/service and click add there is no internet mail option. (internet mail is not even in the list of things to add)
yes ....when i goto tools/services and click the add button internet mail is not on the list to install. However when I do the same thing on a 98 client it is there. It seems as though it has something to do with win2k pro.
