I fixed it in the same way sykotik fixed his photoshop problems. I went into folder options types and deleted any reference to the extension .MPP3. The I created the entry for MP3 and referenced it to some common player. The problem was solved imediately.
Thanks everyone for your help and...
bullhlms - I am not sure if I have that restore on or off, I suspect it is off. I have no faith in it. I was a WinMe user. I would have restore a long way back. And I'm not sure what point, sometime around July or August - can't be sure I have those files.
TekKnowGeek - I don't believe there is...
I will get more info tomorrow on the PC and disk and file types. I can't run certain things and risk having a problem since my wife is using it to do taxes, quicken and finanical aid. Once she is finished I can back everything up and even reformat the drive and do a cold start.
I find out all...
Thanks everyone. I certainly appreciate you taking the time to help.
linney - your first post offers me some good places to look for possibly some better support from Mircosoft - Thanks
linney - I think you AVI idea is a long shot but hey it's a strange problem too. So I may give it a go. And...
Rats, I typed in a substancial post an I don't know what happened, I either hit a bad key or I went back in time and my post is gone and I had to sign back in. I swear one of these days I'm going to go back to Macintosh.
I was thanking all of you for your contribution and devoting time to help...
I have found this out. It is the 2 gig limit issue I spoke of vaguely remembering. Next Question is can I fix it with data out there? And How?
FAT can store no more than 2 gigabytes of data in each partition of a hard drive.
FAT32 (File Allocation Table) will work on hard-drives up to 20...
For one thing, I do not trust the restore. No way.
Guess I am gun shy after WinME and it's restore that never worked. That's not a real solution anyway. A real solution would not just say well w don't know what to fix so just got back to the time before it happened. A real solution would...
I only skimmed the other replys. I think they are all barking up the wrong tree.
Here is some advice. Look up what the Socratic Method is. Basically it is teaching by asking questions and not by telling. It's strenght is that you try by asking the right questions to let people discover things...
OK I just spent over 40 minutes outlining a solution for you and hit one bad key and lost it all/ I have your solution, call if you want me to explain it to you.

It is a good operaational solution, it will work.
I do not use this system. It was my son's old system before he got his laptop. I am just looking into it because my wife uses it and was getting messages about low disk space. I originally thought it had 8 gig but found out it had 10, I thought I had changed all the references to 8. Guess I...
I have a 8 gig system. Started out on Win 95. Have lived through upgrades to several winme installs. Don't ask me what happened to the PC. Near as I can tell my entire C:windows\system dir disappeared. It was as if I had a head crash. I some how managed to get winme to load again after 50...
First of all it's a 400mhz Sony Vaio PCG F290 notebook with I think 190+ memory or 256, and a 6 gigbyte drive, running WINME.
Right now no matter what I try all it does is begin to boot but then says gives me the std. Invailid System Disk, Replace Disk and hit any key error message. You know...
That's it. All I have to do is call up a directory with MP3 files and windows explorer will terminate. I am using Windows XP home on a 2.4 Pentium 4 notbook with 256meg ram, 512 cache, 64 separate video, 40 gigs disk. SP1 applied. I believe it is windows explorer version 6 something.
When I got...
It's not the keyboard itself, it's brand new. I can associate it with any application.
How about MicroSoft!
But trying the other keyboard I like. That might give me clue.
I hate the way the new XP works with Drivers. It thinks it's doing everything for you but then it makes the wrong...
I had this on my last two laptops. The current is a Asthton Didgital Passport 21000, with a desktop PIV and 256M ram, 40 gig drive, 64 video ram running XP home edition.
The previous PC was a Sony pcg 319 400mhz 196 ram 6 gig running WIN ME.
So the Behavior is I'll be typing and the...
See my post a while back under Xandroid where I recommend a program that patches the many memory leaks found in windows me. And win98 as well. This program is done by sone really knowledgeable techies. It does more than just patch the memory leaks. My friends that I have told about it have had...
Disable index services. look under help to find instructions. This will not only stop the slow down but should give you a performance boost. I'm having similar problem in XP and this is the fix I found. It was a bug in NT4 that was never fixed and then win 2000 came out and it was a bug there...
I tried it myself and it worked every time. Both in Netscape and whats that other one, evil browser 6 I think.

Location of DLL files matter.
You didn't say what kind of problem Corel was having with them. Was it not finding them?
Also,
If they were needed by Corel, then they should be within the Corel install. Maybe an install of Corel would help.

This is not an advertisement. I get nothing out of this other than knowing I helped a lot of people. This is a fix to the piece of DIRT OS we have all been struggling with from Microsoft. In what ever version you like your punishment. So here I share what I consider is a significant measure of...
