We have a new website which is hosted at GoDaddy. The issue we are having is the internal users can not access http://domain.com. They can reach the website by using www.domain.com. In our DNS, we have 2 zones (abc.local & domain.com). In the domain.com zone I have an A record for www which...

    Replacing an old DC

Thank you for all of your responses. I'm not really reluctant to change the name/ip. Most of the time I can do things my way, but once in a while my superior throws in his two cents and it is not worth the argument. Thanks, Scott

    Replacing an old DC

I have 2 DC's (DC1 & DC2) in our main office. DC2 is a very old server which I will be replacing soon. I would like to keep the same name and IP address on the new server. DC1 currently holds all the FSMO roles. So I was thinking I would could just dcpromo DC2 to demote it to a member...

Question about putting web servers in a DMZ

I have 2 web servers which are currently behind my firewall (Watchguard XTM-505). All websites on these servers have SSL Certs and our users authenticate to applications with their domain credentials. All applications use a SQL database on a separate server. I have Port 443 forwarded to the...

    AD Password Self Service

Thank you for the responses. We are currently using a Hosted Exchange Server. I'm going to check out the password reminder solution but if it has to run on the Exchange server, then I would be out of luck. Direct Access is a great idea and I might end of going in that direction. Right now...

    AD Password Self Service

We have a lot of Sales people who work out of their homes. Their laptops are not part of our domain since they never come to the office. They use a VPN to connect to the company network, however they never know when their passwords expire and it is a nightmare. I would like to set up...

    Recommendations on Encryption software

Thank you for all the responses. The only problem with using Bitlocker at this point is that all our workstations are running Win7 Professional. I believe Bitlocker only comes on Ultimate/Enterprise versions. So I am looking at some third party apps and compare the cost with possibly...

DNS issue - problem accessing certain websites

I recently migrated from a SBS 2003 domain to a regular 2008 Domain. I have 2 DC's running Server 2008 R2. I am now having a problem accessing a few websites. On DC1, I have the primary DNS server pointing to itself and the secondary is DC2. On DC2, the primary is DC1 and secondary is DC2...

Not able to access shared directories on SBS 2003

We have a SBS 2003 box (Server1) and a server running Server 2008 R2 Standard (Server4) which is basically a web server for a custom application. Server4 has a few virtual directories which point to Server1. The problem that we are having is that every so often, Server4 is not able to see...

internal DNS & host file - SSL testing

If you add an A record in your Public DNS, then you could access it from both the inside and the outside without the use of a host file. For our web application, I also added a CNAME in the internal DNS to make it easier for users inside to access the application. Scott
