When I open queries / tables in MS Access 2010, they open in tabs, and I have not been able to find a way to have them separate so I can see them side by side. I have even added the tile and window buttons to the quick access toolbar, but they do not work when the objects are displayed.
Any...
I just opened up an Excel 2000 to check, and it looks like I only have an import wizard, not an export wizard. It appears I got the software confused. Thanks for the sanity check, as well as the information.
In Excel 2003, you could export a spreadsheet to csv, and you could get a wizard to help you along and allow you to change the delimiter / text qualifier and other options.
In Excell 2007 and 2010, this I can not seem to find this option. It appears in Access 2007 and 2010, but not in Excel...
Yes, that works, and for a few items, it is easy because the actual link to paste into the dialog box is the data in the cell itself.
Do you know of an automated way to handle a large number of cells (over 200 and growing quickly)?
I was hoping to be able to handle it with the Format Cells...
How do I convert text in a cell to behave like a hyperlink?
the text is already formatted to behave like a hyperlink, and if you copy the text from the cell and paste it into the run prompt, the file designated opens up in the default application for the extension. As an example...
check odbc as the user having the problem. test the connection (control panel->administrative tools->odbc data sources) and confirm it works for that user, or that it is even present.
also, the tnsnames.ora file will need to have the correct info, AND be available to that user.
hello.
Anyone aware of what is required in ms live meeting 2007 to allow dual screens to be used with live meeting, so that the 'show' can be displayed on one screen and to the audience, while they presenter can see their Power Point "presenter's view"? I have attempted this several times with...
Under slideshow->setup show, you should click on 'Show Presenter View' and when you run the powerpoint show, the full display should go to one screen and the navigation to another.
If you are just extending the monitor via control panel, then you should be able to drag the entire powerpoint...
Hello, and thanks in advance.
I run Actuate reports through an application called Maximo. When I submit a report to be scheduled
and enter the parameters, Actuate returns a confirmation page
indicating a job number and allows for some expanded details as well
(schedule info on when it will...
Any chance anyone is familiar with this error and how to resolve it? I am attempting to open a database through the application, and it just closes with no message other than 'session closed'. If I attempt to connect through ODBC, then I get a more detailed message of:
[INTERSOLV][ODBC SQLBase...
Feel free to take a look at:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/304932/en-us
or even access help on database splitting.
Essentially, you can set up a database for each table, and then a single database with connections to each table in each database, so it looks like 1 database.
A better...
Generally, I run into this when the user is comfortable with Excel, and not with Access.
Row limitation is version based I believe, and I am using Excel 2003 which reports:
Worksheet size 65,536 rows by 256 columns
With that in mind, what I usually do is get the user to agree on summary...
Ok folks, in your spare time, perhaps you will give this a look. In using Access 2003, and running a macro to transfer text from a query, it appears that the file extension needs to be .TXT, and perhaps there are a few others.
I use different extensions depending on where the data is going...
Hello. I have a powe poit presentati, and want ot be able to extract the comments from the note pages to a report. Is that possible?
Thanks in advance.
At least one of these is a little old, but I always start people here for DTS: http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/dnsql2k/html/dts_overview.asp
It is a great overview on what you can do. While you are there, open Enterprise Manager, right click on Data...
Iradon,
Generally, when you create an ODBC connection, it is a read/write connection, as long as the user id you log on as has read/write permissions to your tables.
As for me, I am looking to diminish a users rights that they may have been granted in the application, to read only or less...
