CICS doesn't have anything a broadcast facility. Do you use Citrix? You can send messages to all Citrix users through that.

It has to be a problem with the CICS Transaction Gateway configuration on the terminal server. It is better to use hostnames instead of ip addresses everywhere in Ellipse so you don't have to change this sort of thing in the future. If hostnames aren't resolving through DNS for some reason...
Hi,
I forgot about the bsm folder - that is most likely what was causing you problems. That goes away in Ellipse 5.2.3, but prior to that all users need write access to that folder.
Raise a work order to get a new VCL30.dpl that will fix the permissions problem in HKey Classes Root. It will...
Check out regmon and filemon from www.sysinternals.com If it is a permissions problem of any kind, that should fix it.
Opening up permissions on windows\system32 is not a good idea - just make sure you have read and execute on vcl30.dpl
i've never tried installing a mims 4.3 client on...
Hi Donna,
No, this is not normal, and it is pretty difficult to debug without seeing the system. Bringing up an MSO or MSQ on a normally running Citrix server should not take longer than a second - basically no different than a fat client on regular PC. Here are a few things to check:
1...
EAC does not update syscfg.xml(at least not the last version I saw). You update syscfg.xml, and then restart EAC to get it to pick up the changes. Or you can just install all the cobol components to something like /opt/svrexp2.2 or whatever is in syscfg.xml to get around the problem in the...
I've installed it at a half dozen or so sites. The only critical step in the installation is to make sure you install it in 32 bit mode - the rest of the defaults will not hurt you in any way, but you'll have to modify the syscfg.xml if you let it install into the default /opt/lib/cobol location.
Hardware configuration is really site dependent, and should be done as part of the upgrade planning with Mincom resources familiar with your database size, concurrent users, etc.
You can have the database and the app server running on different machines, but I don't see much benefit in it...
You have two options. One is to use the Webview client, which is a pure web-based system. For this you need Websphere, which will run on either a Windows or a UNIX box. I recommend putting it on a separate server from the Ellipse server regardless of which OS you choose. You need nothing...
Howdy,
For 5.2.3 Sun, you need IBM CICS, Microfocus Server Express for Cobol(note there are developer and app server licenses with this), Forte C++, and either Oracle or DB2. For HP, replace Forte with ansic - not aCC. Mincom Scheduler is a lot more pleasant and cheaper to work with than...
You should also specify which version of MIMS/Ellipse, BEC, and which transaction processor you are using. Log file names and locations have changed considerably from version to version in the last three years or so.
