    Thanks again hymn, but I followed your advise, clicked on the Microsoft DAO Object Library 3.6 reference and I even added Dim MyRst as DAO.Recordset to my databse and still the same error.

    Hymn, you were correct, there was a missing reference, but I corrected! Now when I run it, I get a runtime error 3001. It is telling me I have an invalid argument. Impossible, I have run this code every other week for the last three years. CODE (where it is hanging up) qd.sql = sql qd.execute

    Is it possible to access table objects in a corrupt database. I have a dbase that access will not open. When I try to access the objects by importing or linking, I get an error messages telling me the dbase can not be opened.

    Yes dvannoy, I used the Jetcomp.exe and it actually was able to go in and compact the db externally. However, I still couldn't open it and I have no back up. :-(

    Thanks dvannoy, but the dbase is compactable externally, it just will not open. Access can not open the dbase. I can't even access to import files to or from it. I just can't figure this out.

    Hey Cruford, Didn't work! That was a neat trick though. I will be using it from now on. It did compact the db and make a new one, but I still can't open then new one that it made.

    Set VISIBLE property of sub detail group footer to NO in ACCESS

    I want to set a the VISIBLE property of one of my sub-detail footer lines to NO based on the value of a field. For instance, I am sub-totaling on a group, lets say the groups are A and B. When the [GrpTyp] field="B", I don't want to show the sub-total footer. How do I do that? Thanks!
