Is it ok to shutdown the RMAN catalog database while no one is doing any backups or restores..then start it, resynch the target databases before any procedures occur
Can anyone tell me what the difference in performance if there is a contraint created to check data integrity vs a trigger created to do the same?

Our programmers use the metadata to do a few things..
1. verify the datatypes
2. Find the table column information
They construct a select(s) statement(s) batch them then run the batch for the data.
They handle if not all the values are used ( NULL values) and return errors for data...

The form stays active ( if active means visible and not closed), The weird thing is the select statement is just a oneliner...[]![]![]! Or []![]![] IS NULL but when I reopen the query after a save...it is HUGE to large to open...and doesnt work..
