More than likely your hard drive has failed and the only solution is a new one. If you can still occasionally get into the disk, copy all important files off of the hard drive so you have them to put on the new drive.

I have been reading up on the differences between CL2 and CL3 memory but still am not sure if it is a good idea to mix the two types. I have a stick of each and they are identical except one is cl2 the other cl3 and I would like to use them in the same machine. Any thoughts on this?

In the Format of the values for that column type "D03"00000 with the quote marks and as many zeros as you want numbers. The text in the quotes is entered written and the zeros act as number place holders that are incremented automatically by the autonumber.

If you go through Tools - Customize - Commands - Macros and drag the custom button onto a toolbar you have to keep the Customize box open and then right clicking on the button will bring the menu with the Assign Macro option. If you close the customize box you will not get this menu.
