Thanks! I think you are right, it has to be translated from Quark. I was able to read the Quark files into PageMaker (I downloaded a trial copy), save them as Acrobat files, then use Acrobat to save them as text - better than nothing. All formatting is gone, but I have the text.
I do not own Quarkxpress. I have a quark file (.qxd) in Mac format that I translated to PC format with MacOpener. Now I want to open it in Word. How can I do this without buying Quark for Windows? I see that Adobe PageMaker will import quark files - is this the only option?
