Do a reboot of the server and check the backups..that should
help..replication option was there in previous versions..
now there is no replication as such.and in the backup option
the replication tab options are grayed out fully..
this option has been made a seperate product and not an option...

If you have SP4 on Arcserve 2000 then you can backup to disk..instead of tape..
for this you need to run the device configuration selecting
file system devices and create a file system before actually
doing the backup..
give this a shot..hope you will be happy about using arcserve...

If you want to delete a job...
Find the Queue ID of the job .. For Eg : 1
then delete 00000001.Job in the QSD folder and recycle the job engine service..
Where is the exchange server? hope it is on the arcserve
server itself..
check what is the build of the exchange agent form registry..
regedt32/hkeylocalmachine/software/computerassociates/arcserve/dsagent/currentversion/agent/dbaexch
highlight dbaexch and on the right pane check what is the...
Check the event viewer/application log or the alert activity log in the alert folder under the arcserve directory..

Hi,
Does the drive/changer have barcode enabled..
also remove the tapeengine key in the registry and reboot
the server and verify if the same probelem exists.
regedt32/hkeylocalmachine/software/arcserve/base/tapeengine
delete this and reboot server..

Please confirm if software compression option is being
selected under the backup options for the particular job..
under backup options/backup media tab you have a check box
which says software compression,make sure this is NOT checked..
Also confirm if hardare compression though enabled is...
Also make sure you use the arcserve system account for
the job engine to start..
can check the arcserve system account from the arcserve
server admin console and click on the admin/arcserve system
account which should reveal the arcserve system account..
use this account for the job engine...
browse the CD intelnt/arcserve AE/WE folder and point to
the arcserve.msi and that should be grabbed by the setup
process..
