    manual drive cleaning

Bob, I actually, out of frustration, did the manual cleaning of the drives today. I waited and the tapes didn't automatically eject. I think this could be causing the 98 error I'm getting when the next next drive cleaning needs to be performed. Can you shed some light on this?

I can't get this to work.

To update you, when the name changed, so did the function. They decided to turn on the Windows Firewall. When I asked them what changed, nothing, just the name. SE couldn't turn the firewall off so I had to put port exceptions in the firewall. Thanks for your help, smwoodcrafts

But we're not using DNS, We're using Hosts file entries. Do you think this could be causing a conflict?

I can't get this to work.

I was backing up a group of 5 servers in our DMZ. One was giving me problems, but a uninstall and reinstall of the client and an entry in the hosts file fixed that. Now they decided to change the name of one the the servers. The IP wasn't changed. I had our network engineer change the name in...

I haven't found a solution to this, so I edited the policy to use the active node directly and not the cluster name until I could find a solution. Now, during the backup window, the job runs several times. Please help, smwoodcrafts

Can't connect to client in DMZ

I am still having the problem but, looking into it further, on the two that are failing it appears that vnetd isn't open on the client server. At least netstat shows they aren't listening to port 13724. Not sure where to go from here. Please help.

    Tape inventory question

Why would tapes put in and inventoried not show up in a tape lists report? I put 4 tapes in our library and did the inventory. Everything went fine and all 4 tapes showed up in the inventory. However, when I do a tape lists report, 2 of the tapes don't show up. What are some reasons this would...
