In the meantime I got the solution from Legato:

Here is the solution:

The hosts-file justs contains the loopback address and the clients ip including all its aliases, which are exactly the same as in DNS and also included in the client resource.
So I don't think it is a naming resolution issue.
Any more guesses?
Hi,
I am having a problem to backup one client after its hardware was replaced. IP/hostname/networker config and client version is exactly the same as before this replacement.
Client is Linux with NW 7.1.3
Server is HPUX with NW 7.1.3
Doing a server initiated backup I get the following log...
Is there a possibility to prevent mcshield from scanning files accessed (read-access) by a special process.
The process is part of Legato Networker Backup Solution (save.exe)
Mcshild uses a lot of CPU during daily backup and slows down the backup transfer rate!
The enabler code must be authorized to the license servers hostid.
If you have a site und contact number, use the function "hosttransfer" on the legato licensing webtool to get the correct authorization code.
I want to move some data backuped up with ARCserve to Networker.
My problem is that I have to keep the savesets original savetime, so a simple restore/backup-job will not work.
Is there a possibility to manipulate the savetime in the networker mediaDB.
Or does anybody know, how to migrate...
another workaround is:
- create another client resource
- set its savesets to "index"
- do not add this resource to any group.
So all groups that do not contain the NWserver take this policies for its index.
In this case the completion report will not contain any information about...
Is the client's index-saveset also on this tape?
The index-saveset takes the NW-server policies. Review your client configuration of the NW-server. Is your server's retention policy configured to one year?
If so, backup the index savesets to a different pool or create another client resource...
Perfect, it works.
I thought the storage node has to have the same name as the remote host, that controlls the autochanger. So i didn't try this.
thanks a lot, jkalbus
I have a Storage Node with two NICs installed.
- NW-Server and Storage Node are TRU64
- Client ist WIN2k
- NW 6.1.2
How can I tell the NWServer to use the second StorageNode NIC to backup a Client.
There is no client configuration resource like 'server network interface' for a storage node to...
No, the Networker Server does not belong to this group of clients.
the configuration is as followed:
group A (pool A), where the NW-Server belongs to. Data of these clients are very important and should be kept for 3 month.
group B (pool B), with less important clients. Data should only be...
I have configured a group of clients, with a browse and retention policy of one month. But the client file index, which is saved together with the client, has a retention policy of a quarter. So it lasts 3 month until the tape can be recycled.
How can I configure the browse/retention policy for...
