Windows XP Pro SP1 causing modem problems
Yes, I must have deleted and re-installed the original modem at least three times before installing the two other modems (one USB and one serial). I also deleted both of the new modems and re-installed drivers for them as well.- Beaza

Windows XP Pro SP1 causing modem problems
Installed Windows XP Pro without any problems, modem working fine. Dialed out multi times to different ISP's without error. Downloaded SP1 from Microsoft and re-booted after which modem could not dial out. Said I had a hardware error. Changed cable, swapped modems, even added a USB modem...- Beaza
